Wednesday, October 29, 2025 | 9:45AM–10:30AM CT | EDUCAUSE Commons, Enterprise Central, Poster Area
Session Type: Poster Session
Delivery Format: Poster

University administrators and CIOs recognize that research IT is a key part of the IT portfolio at universities of all sizes. However, costs for high-performance computing are high, financial ROI does not show clearly within the IT organization, and ensuring alignment with university academic goals is frequently different than administrative or teaching IT. This panel of experts from the research computing community will share funding models, best practices, and successes and failures in articulating the value and impact of research IT at both the campus and national level. They will also share tools for how leaders can successfully size and identify the right amount of resources to allocate to support research.
