State of the Ecosystem: National Perspectives on Research Computing and Data
As research becomes increasingly data-intensive and collaborative, the demands on campus IT to support research computing and data (RCD) are rapidly expanding. Issues such as scalable infrastructure, secure data management, reliable research software, workforce development, and alignment with institutional priorities are at the forefront. This panel brings together national leaders representing the major organizations shaping the RCD landscape—Carrie Brown and David Driesbach (Educause Research Computing and Data Community Group), Karen Estlund (Coalition of Networked Information, Colorado State University), Justin Booth (Campus Research Computing Consortium, Michigan State University), Kathryn Kelley (Coalition for Academic Scientific Computation), Kenton McHenry (U.S. Research Software Engineer Association, NCSA), and Mike Renfro (Campus Champions). Together, they will share insights into how their communities are advancing research support and influencing institutional strategies nationwide.
Attendees will learn about emerging models of RCD collaboration, opportunities for engagement across these national networks, and practical strategies to integrate research needs into institutional IT planning and services.
