The CHAMPIONS Framework: A Practical and Actionable Roadmap for Digital Accessibility

Wednesday, October 29, 2025 | 3:15PM–4:00PM CT | EDUCAUSE Commons, EDUCAUSE Central Poster Area
Session Type: Poster Session
Delivery Format: Poster
In today’s digital learning environment, higher education institutions must move beyond minimum legal compliance to create cultures where digital accessibility is embedded in policy, practice, and purpose. This poster introduces the CHAMPIONS Framework—a strategic model designed to guide institutional leaders in building sustainable digital accessibility practices that foster a culture of inclusion. Rooted in federal laws and equity principles, the framework includes clearly defined Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) that support accountability, continuous improvement, and campus-wide engagement. The session will present a high-level overview of each component of the CHAMPIONS Framework, illustrating how leaders can use KPIs to measure progress, identify institutional gaps, and align digital accessibility with broader institutional equity initiatives. Whether your institution is beginning this journey or working to scale efforts, the framework provides a roadmap for integrating digital accessibility into the fabric of higher education. Attendees will leave with actionable insights and a strategic model they can adapt to promote inclusive, compliant digital learning environments that serve all students equitably.
