Tuesday, October 28, 2025 | 4:30PM–5:15PM CT | EDUCAUSE Commons, Enterprise Central, Poster Area
Session Type: Poster Session
Delivery Format: Poster
In 2024, Utah Valley University’s IT organization embarked on a strategic initiative to modernize our project management practices through Agile methodologies. Partnering with expert consultants, we implemented a comprehensive Agile transformation tailored to the unique needs of a higher education institution. This session will present the practical steps we took to integrate Agile principles into our IT teams, the cultural and organizational challenges we faced, and the critical lessons we learned along the way. Participants will hear a dual perspective: from UVU leaders managing change within a complex academic environment, and from our consulting partners who guided the transformation. Together, we'll explore what worked, what didn’t, and the tangible impact Agile has had on our project outcomes, team engagement, and service delivery. Attendees will leave with actionable insights and a realistic understanding of what it takes to adopt Agile in a higher ed IT environment—whether you’re just starting your journey or seeking to strengthen an existing practice.
