Tuesday, October 28, 2025 | 4:30PM–5:15PM CT | EDUCAUSE Commons, Enterprise Central, Poster Area
Session Type: Poster Session
Delivery Format: Poster

Indiana University embarked on a significant initiative to unify its vast digital presence through a new, centrally developed and managed web framework based on IU’s Rivet Design System. This poster details the journey from concept to ongoing implementation across a multicampus system. We focus on securing executive leadership buy-in, coordinating diverse development and deployment teams, and organizing the migration of thousands of websites and their associated content. The presentation examines the operational model of a dedicated central team tasked with migrating legacy sites and shares practical insights, successes, and ongoing challenges encountered during one of the largest and most significant web projects ever undertaken at Indiana University. Attendees will gain actionable strategies for managing similar enterprise-wide web projects and how IU used this opportunity to streamline branding, design, and accessibility standards and implement cohesive customizations to the university’s web presence.
