Vision-Driven AI: Crafting Institutional Purpose in the Age of Generative Technology (separate registration is required)
As AI rapidly reshapes higher education, institutions need more than policies and pilot programs—they need a clear, purpose-driven vision. This interactive workshop guides participants through a proven process to craft and align an AI vision for their institution, using the newly developed AI for Higher Ed Visioning Cards adapted from the CSforALL framework. Attendees will engage in collaborative activities to identify what they want AI to look like on their campus, why it matters to their mission, and how to implement it with integrity. Drawing on models from Indiana University’s AI training programs and Digital Gardener Initiative, the session also offers facilitation strategies for engaging faculty, IT leaders, and academic administrators in meaningful visioning conversations. Participants will leave with a draft vision statement, stakeholder messaging plans, and access to adaptable tools and training resources. Whether you're just starting your AI journey or working toward deeper alignment, this session will help you turn abstract ambitions into actionable strategy.
Outcomes of this workshop:
- Draft an institutional AI vision that aligns with mission, pedagogy, and stakeholder values.
- Facilitate strategic conversations about AI with faculty, IT, and campus leadership.
- Apply adaptable tools and models to guide AI planning, training, and campus engagement.
