You Get a TA! And You Get a TA! Using AI to Scale Teaching Support Across Campus
Imagine if every faculty member could have a teaching assistant—personalized, always available, and budget-friendly. In this session, a faculty member, department chair, college dean, and chair of our university's Generative AI Task Force share how their cross-level collaboration is taking steps to turn that vision into reality. With increasing demands on instructors and limited staffing, AI offers a creative, cost-effective solution. By programming generative AI tools with course-specific content, institutions can deliver customized student support while easing faculty workload. You’ll hear how we have started to build trust among faculty, piloted ethical and effective use cases, and launched AI-powered assistants that add opportunities for students to engage with content outside the classroom. This session will offer real examples, lessons learned, and a roadmap for how your institution can start saying, “You get a TA. You get a TA. Everyone gets a TA!”—restoring trust in higher ed’s ability to innovate, support learning, and do more with less.
