Engaging Technologies and Reflection to Prepare Students

Thursday, May 31, 2012 | 11:45AM–1:30PM | Grand Ballroom Salons A/B
Session Type: Professional Development
This presentation will address the topic of engaging technologies and relationships to prepare students for membership in the larger global community. An online undergraduate course in learning technology was designed to provide basic computer skills and options to a group of nursing students, including online learning tools and computer tips and tricks, opportunities to interact with the institution's library services, and reflective activities to help students function effectively in today's workplace. We'll describe the development process and rationale for the design of the course within the larger context of promoting effective collaboration and engagement among students.
