This session will present the Horizon Report, the Gartner Hype Cycle, and student perceptions as gathered in a survey of students at the University of Florida on course management system (CMS) features. The audience will engage in discussion and hands-on activities synthesizing information from these sources to create analytical frameworks, or lenses. Participants will use the lenses to evaluate emerging and innovative technologies with the potential to impact teaching and learning in higher education. Participants will also consider how these lenses can be adapted to fit the unique needs of different institutions.
