Security Professionals Conference Cancellation FAQ

Why is the Security Professionals Conference moving from a face-to-face to an online experience?

  • Many of our Security attendees are now subject to travel bans and also need to stay close to their campuses to help manage the evolving health situation. In the past few days we have seen a growing number of cancellations, including presenters, which threatened to erode the quality of the experience for attendees.
  • The final decision was made not longer after Washington's Governor Inslee issued an emergency proclamation that limits large events from convening in the greater Seattle metropolitan area.
  • The health and safety of our event attendees and staff is our highest priority, and moving to an online event is our way of preserving the value of the Security event experience during a time with COVID-19 travel and gathering concerns.

What will happen to my registration?

  • Registrations for the 2020 Security Professionals Conference, April 21–23, will automatically be transferred to the online event.
  • More information on the online program will be available in the coming weeks.
  • If you want a full registration refund, please contact [email protected] by May 26, 2020.

What should I do about my hotel reservation?

  • The Hyatt Regency Bellevue will refund rooms canceled more than 48 hours in advance of the reservation date. Please follow the guidance in the confirmation email you received from the Hyatt Regency Bellevue or call the hotel directly at 425-462-1234 with any questions.

What about other travel expenses?

We are unable to provide refunds for travel expenses. In terms of air travel, many airlines are now offering flight waivers and accommodations for specific travel dates and destinations. Please work directly with your airline. If we can support refund requests in any other way, please contact [email protected].
