In this session, we will explore privacy and ethical questions related to edtech vendors. Most universities are familiar with security reviews for vendors, but privacy and ethics reviews are not always conducted; when reviews are done, they are not uniform across universities. This leads to lack of trust by an increasingly privacy-aware student body. In this session, we will talk about the privacy and data ethics concerns with edtech and provide attendees with a few basic questions to ask every vendor.
