Cloud Adoption's Impact on Cybersecurity, Privacy and Safety in Higher Education Remote Learning Environments

On Demand
Session Type: Industry and Campus Session
Delivery Format: On-Demand
Remote learning has become more prominent in universities and colleges, but presents its own challenges when it comes to cybersecurity, privacy, and online safety. Turning to cloud-based platforms such as Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 to power remote learning between students and faculty means more sensitive data is flowing from many different access points, causing a loss of visibility and control of the data stored. This loss creates cybersecurity, privacy, and online safety vulnerabilities that higher education must address to better protect their students and faculty. In this session, join Michael LeBlanc, the director of information technology at St. John?s School and formerly a service and solutions manager at the University of British Columbia, alongside ManagedMethods Chief Revenue Officer David Waugh. Attendees will learn about the emerging risks that come with the increase in cloud-based remote learning across higher education, and how to mitigate them.
