Ideally, invasive uses of personal data by governments, companies and other organizations are regulated and influenced by each other, and by individuals. But is our system of checks and balances working—or are we headed into a future where privacy is being irreversibly eroded, without any meaningful checks on surveillance? In this session, we’ll talk about whether our system of checks and balances may be breaking down—and our role in higher education in driving a dialogue for solutions.
