Get Ahead of the Hacker

Is it possible for Higher Ed IT staff to get ahead of the cybersecurity criminal? One consortium comprised of ten small, private US colleges and universities partnered with Arctic Security, a Finnish cybersecurity company, for a six-month pilot using Arctic’s Early Warning Service. The participating colleges received notifications derived by continuous external monitoring showing active vulnerabilities and threats on their networks. These notifications were 98% accurate and required no special set up. The notifications contained detailed information to quickly identify and fix problems resulting in significant improvement to Time-to-Fix from 81 to 1.3 days.

Outcomes: 1. Attendees will see how easily the criminal cyber-element can find a vulnerable network. 2. Attendees will learn how an early warning service reduces the number of days it takes to identify a problem without adding personnel or installing software. 3. Attendees will learn how an early warning services results in a peace of mind.
