Academic research is an increasingly sought-after target for cybercrime due to its intrinsic and monetary value. Inadequate security measures on high-value research data make universities a soft target for intellectual property theft and state-sponsored espionage. Behavioral security measures are essential but insufficient safeguards against sophisticated cybersecurity threats. In order to properly secure high-value research data, institutions need effective tools for protecting data at rest and in transit. This session will explore how a secure, managed file transfer application can fill these gaps and meet the security compliance needed to protect against sophisticated technical attacks.
