Wednesday, June 09, 2021 | 11:00AM–11:45AM ET
Session Type: Industry and Campus Session
Delivery Format: Live Session

NIST 800-171 is relevant to higher education as it's the basis for CMMC DoD requirements and is the proposed framework for protecting Federal Student Aid data. A recurring theme, pervasive throughout most families of the framework, is one of auditing, accountability and review of user activities and behavior. This panel discussion will focus on the NIST 800-171 requirements for collecting and reviewing data, and the potential technical and political challenges that come with effectively building an insider risk program.
