Proctoring software was already in use before the pandemic. However, despite calls for alternative assessments, proctoring services have seen a resurgence now that most classes are taught online, particularly in STEM courses. In this session, we'll talk about the privacy concerns with these services and why they are not analogous to in-person proctoring. We'll provide some recommendations for more privacy-protective assessments.
