This interactive boot camp will cover the basics of student privacy, with an overview of state and federal laws. We will also review working with vendors, researchers, and institutions and how to communicate about data and privacy practices.

Outcomes: Explore the major student privacy laws that must be complied with * Learn how to communicate about how data is used and protected on your campus * Identify potential privacy pitfalls in vendor contracts, researcher MOUs, and uses of data analytics
