Thursday, February 21 | 10:15AM–11:00AM PT | Pacific Promenade - Poster40
Session Type: Poster Session
Delivery Format: Poster Session
Active learning classrooms require large amounts of space and significant capital investment; the scale of these models is not fiscally sustainable or practical on a space constrained campuses. CWRU is incorporating lessons learned in active learning design to inform a new approach using traditional spaces augmented with mobile devices. You'll learn about CWRU's approach to space design while using design thinking to consider possibilities for your own campus. The ideal way to experience this session is with a mobile device in order to participate fully in the collaboration activity.

Outcomes: Recognize the benefits and challenges associated with active learning space design * Evaluate ways to create flexible learning spaces in your traditional classroom spaces * Design a prototype of a flexible learning space in a small group to share with the session and take back to your institution
