On Demand
Session Type: Breakout Session
Delivery Format: On-Demand
Do institutions promote learning or teaching? Kim and Maloney (2020) argue that innovation in higher education requires a "turn towards learning" and that learning designers play an essential role if learning innovation is to be achieved. This presentation illustrates how two learning design projects are turning one institution toward learning.

Outcomes: Describe the role learning experts play in student data-driven decision making at the institutional, program, and course levels * Differentiate between the expertise of learning designers and instructional technologists * Identify actionable strategies for building collaborative partnerships between learning design experts and leadership and faculty
