There is growing consensus in the higher education community that the next-generation digital learning environment (NGDLE) will be built by combining application components by means of open standards. In the domain of learning analytics, the leading standards for learning analytics data are Caliper (IMS Global) and xAPI (Advanced Distributed Learning). In this session, we will hear how leading institutions are planning to leverage these open standards to create a broad campus infrastructure that enables full utilization of learning data.
