In this session Duke University and the University of Texas at El Paso will discuss how to build a sustainable infrastructure around 3D printing to effectively and efficiently offer a campus-wide service. We will describe data collection and best practices for managing facilities, and will present recent research on how the technology is enhancing student-learning experiences.


Outcomes: Understand the management of fabrication labs and develop realistic expectations for such a service *Explore use-case research about 3D printing for the purpose of making data-driven decisions *Understand the impact of bringing 3D printing into coursework and current student perceptions of such technology
