Friday, October 28, 2016 | 9:10AM–10:00AM | Meeting Room 303C, Level Three
Session Type: Breakout Session
Delivery Format: Industry and Client-Led Session
eBird, which is considered the largest citizen science database in the world, needed massive compute resources for analysis and data storage that would enable collaboration among researchers across the globe. In this session, you'll hear from representatives from Cornell University and how they were able to offload compute and storage to Microsoft Azure.

Outcomes: Learn about cloud options for massive compute and storage * Explore the options for offload compute and storage to Azure and how it can complement on-premises tools * Learn how and where to apply for a Microsoft Azure for Research Award
