There is a pressing need for improvements to methods for measuring the impact of scholarly publications. This session will document the challenges with new altmetrics and traditional measures. We will present approaches to improving consistency, quality, and reliability of scholarly measures using existing data resources. We will explore opportunities to create better open resources for evaluating scholarly communication.
