Thursday, October 27, 2016 | 12:30PM–1:30PM | Exhibit Hall B/C, Level One
Session Type: Poster Session
Delivery Format: Poster Session
We will present our experience, best practices, and pitfalls in designing, deploying, and administering an online project-based course on cloud computing to Carnegie Mellon students at our Pittsburgh, Silicon Valley, Adelaide (Australia), and Rwanda (Africa) campuses. The course is 100% online with projects that are 100% on the cloud. Ken Eisner of AWS will present the findings from CMU professor Majd Sakr's class and AWS's collaboration with CMU.

Outcomes: Identify the steps to design new or adopt existing project-based courses for the cloud * Explore the advantages and disadvantages of different public cloud adoption models for students and institutions * Discuss the infrastructure needed to adopt or develop in order to automatically evaluate student projects
