SEM02A-Moving to the Cloud with Amazon Web Services (separate registration is required)

Tuesday, October 25, 2016 | 8:00AM–11:30AM | Meeting Room 209A/B, Level Two
Session Type: Additional Fee Program
Delivery Format: Preconference Seminar
Almost all universities have moved at least some of their applications and services to the public cloud, and others have well-articulated plans to rely on the public cloud as their IT platform of the future. To effectively make cloud migrations, universities must rethink how IT services are delivered and how to prepare those who manage and deliver the services. In this seminar, university staff members who have successfully led dozens of cloud migration efforts will discuss their experiences and engage with participants through exercises and discussions. Topics will include approaches to governance, security, risk, budget and cost models, vendor relations, and legal considerations.

Outcomes: Fully assess you campus's readiness to plan for cloud migrations * Better understand how to prepare your staff to support successful cloud-based applications * Develop initial roadmaps to accelerate cloud application and service migration
