New managers now have responsibilities that include managing people, negotiating institutional policies and politics, and communicating with staff, faculty, and peers. Designed for new IT managers, this seminar will introduce basic management philosophy and provide a context and strategies for being a successful manager.


Outcomes: Understand the value of a good boss, and why that matters to employees * Learn about the traits and behaviors of an effective IT manager * Identify "good boss" strengths and develop action steps for returning to work
