SEM12P-How IT Can Enhance Institutional Success, Again and Again (separate registration is required)

Tuesday, October 25, 2016 | 12:30PM–4:00PM | Meeting Room 210A/B, Level Two
Session Type: Additional Fee Program
Delivery Format: Preconference Seminar
Self-imposed obstacles often constrain IT's contributions to institutional success. This workshop isn't about finding an example or two of strategic systems. It's about how to eliminate those obstacles and design an IT organization that delivers strategic value year after year. We'll explore the "value chain": what it takes to deliver strategic systems. Then, we'll derive from those steps the culture, structure, resource-governance processes, and methods that IT needs to deliver a continual stream of successes. This workshop is for transformational IT leaders who want to leave the legacy of an IT organization that earns its "seat at the table" as a fundamental component of university strategy.

Outcomes: Identify the types of strategic value that IT can contribute * Explore essential steps in delivering strategic value * Investigate how to design the IT culture, structure, and resource-governance processes to repeatedly deliver value
