Meaningful, hands-on work experiences provide students with valuable skills that boost their career readiness. When those jobs are in campus IT, the university benefits by engaging student employees in technology needs assessment and decision making. In this session, we will share highlights of UC Berkeley's Student IT Leadership Program and challenge participants to develop similar opportunities at their institutions.


Outcomes: Describe what it takes to manage a successful Student IT Leadership Program *Explore the unique characteristics of student employees *Identify at least one way you can support student leadership development in your home department/institution
