This year, we explore how support of the teaching and learning mission is a collaborative enterprise, involving multiple campus organizations. Today, our success depends on working with a cohort of colleagues to discover the best instructional and learning practices and to leverage the technology needed to enable them. These new practices also have inter-institutional dimensions, as creative partnerships and consortia play an increasingly important role in defining our educational landscape. Join your colleagues to engage in discussions around the key teaching and learning issues and contribute the discoveries you are making at your campus. Together we'll explore these and other questions:
- What new kinds of leadership are required for this new teaching and learning landscape?
- How do we re-architect our learning environments to meet the needs of students and educators?
- How can we best harness our learning data to inform our practice?
- What emerging technologies are best suited to enable progress towards increased student success?
- How can we best engage our faculty and instructors, enabling them to innovate and discover more successful practices?
Annual Meeting Highlights
Key Issues in Teaching and Learning
The key issues for 2017 will be announced during the ELI Annual Meeting.
GooseChase Is Back!
Back by popular demand: we're asking participants to join and play a digital, mobile scavenger hunt/game via the GooseChase mobile app. Note: the GooseChase app is distinct from the ELI Annual Meeting mobile app and needs to be downloaded separately.
Our mission is to support networking, especially among new attendees; support team building among attending institutional teams; support learning innovation awareness in teaching and learning; and experiment with colleagues on how gamification supports learning.
All registered face-to-face attendees will receive an email invitation from Goosechase to join the game on February 12, 12:00 p.m. ET (check your spam folders, just in case). Note the game is played on an individual, not team, basis. The game closes on February 15, 10:00 a.m. CT. Winners will be awarded prizes based on the leaderboard at the closing session of the meeting in Houston.
Virtual Reality Playground
Join us for ELI’s first ever Virtual Reality Playground and explore the impact of immersive media on learning. Each session includes three unique VR experiences!
