Digital badges, which are electronic badges issued to individuals to acknowledge and recognize their achievements and engagement in professional activities, have changed the way we see faculty development. In 2015, we started to issue digital badges to health sciences faculty in recognition of their participation in professional development. Initial data revealed that digital badges served as a motivator for faculty's participation in professional development. Recognizing the value of the badging system, some faculty also started to issue badges to students. In this presentation, we will share how we implemented digital badges, discuss best practices, and report specific outcomes.

Outcomes: Understand the key components of a digital badge *Get familiar with major digital badge management and issuing platforms *Implement digital badges in faculty professional development at your institution
