Tuesday, February 19, 2019 | 8:00AM–11:00AM PT | San Simeon, Fourth Floor
Session Type: Additional Fee Program
Delivery Format: Preconference Workshop
The ALLURE method of game design uses learning, engagement, and assessment principles inherent in complex game mechanics to create a spectrum of highly engaging learning experiences, digital or nondigital. You will engage in the design process and find that options for when and how to apply the method are expansive and versatile. We will show you how to implement ALLURE so that it taps into the vast emotional and social wellsprings our students carry with them, and we will also show you how to structure the experience so that you will be confident you are helping to deepen student understanding.

Outcomes: Learn the ALLURE method of game design * Collaborate to design a learning game * Analyze the quality of the game for its deep learning, engagement, and assessment features
