Drinking from the Fire Hose: Consuming Data Streams For Analytics
Monday, January 01, 0001 | 12:00AM–12:00AM CT
Session Type:
Breakout Session
There is progress in standardizing the production of data from campus systems for learning analytics. But there is a gap in creating consistent, scalable mechanisms for consuming that data. Explore how existing and emerging standards like Caliper Analytics, xAPI, and Edu-API can be coordinated to provide an integrated analytics ecosystem.
Outcomes: (1) Gain knowledge of existing APIs and specifications that inform learning analytics. (2) Understand the objects and artifacts that make up the consumer side of analytics. (3) Be able to identify how their campus infrastructure would initiate a learning data consumption project.
