Hackathons have become a very popular competition among 18–25-year-olds focused on computer science, information technology, and entrepreneurism. Hear how Ithaca College faculty and staff worked together to hold a community hackathon. You'll experience a simple hacking exercise and have the opportunity for Q&A.

Outcomes: Understand what a hackathon is and the value of hosting one * Identify the tasks needed to host a hackathon no matter what size college/university * Explore the benefits of including multiple skill levels, talents, and ideas in the development of projects * Experience a hands-on hacking exercise
