This session will be a panel discussion of higher education CDOs with participant-involved Q&A. The theme of the discussion will be the “why” and “how” of the role of CDOs within specific institutions of higher education as well as the “what” in the context of advancing institutional mission. A key focus will be the context of the CDO as it relates to IT, IR, compliance, and business functions. Organizational structures, team-building, hiring, data governance, IT governance, and strategies for affecting the use and management of data will be addressed. While every institution has individual needs and priorities, potential paradigms for data and analytics organizations in higher education will be discussed.
