Tuesday, October 10, 2023 | 10:15AM–11:00AM CT | Poster #605, Halls F1, F2, Level 3
Session Type: Poster Session
Delivery Format: Poster Session
Using the data mesh organization strategy, Virginia Tech is implementing a decentralized data strategy. A strong centralized data governance process was critical to implementing this philosophy. We will review the process used to set up the committees and how we got buy-in from stakeholders. We will also review how we break down the different stages of the data strategy and how we identified the maturity of each domain, along with the plans to modernize them. It is critical to know where each domain stands and who is responsible for managing the data within that domain in order to make changes.
