Many institutions, when building out their networks in the early 1990s, acquired large blocks of IPv4 addresses. Today these large blocks of IPv4 addresses have become hot commodities and many institutions are eager to realize financial opportunities afforded by selling off portions of their IPv4 address space. This panel session will explore the effort to free up IPv4 addresses and describe the process of selling off addresses, as experienced by a couple of universities.
