Tuesday, October 10, 2023 | 10:15AM–11:00AM CT | Poster #104, Halls F1, F2, Level 3
Session Type: Poster Session
Delivery Format: Poster Session
While teaching an Intercultural Communication class, I adopted an inclusive teaching pedagogy and learning environment to help students build a sense of community and ensured that the students knew their classmates well through various assignments, including each student interviewing two students in class to write an interview report. In addition, I used Jack Mezirow's transformative learning model (1991), including generation of consciousness, transformation of consciousness, and integration of consciousness to get students think critically and learn effectively. The assignment includes an autobiography, which helps students generate a lot of thoughts and efforts to discover themselves through an intercultural communication lens of learning.
