The demand for network infrastructure capacity, speed, and security at leading universities has never been higher, based on the exponential increase of cloud, evolving student usage patterns, high-performance computing, IoT devices, and many other factors. While traditional network designs are being pushed to their limits, the challenge to recruit and retain talented network architects and engineers is also increasing. Many institutions are in the process of implementing next-gen network designs to meet these needs. During this session, participants will build awareness of what their peers are doing relative to network design, architecture, operations, and long-term investments, and learn important caveats in addressing the evolving demands of research networking.
