Hybrid, HyFlex, online, in-person? Students have so many options for how they attend class and learn. Although these options are nice, it is no surprise that learning outcomes are higher when students attend class in person. Having an ad hoc conversation in the hallway before or after class, active discussion and networking in the classroom, and hands-on learning opportunities from industry professionals don’t occur as naturally in an online environment, but the accessibility and ease of an online or recorded class holds its own value. How can we create a learning environment that students want to be in? What can we add or change about the current setup that allows students to gain more than they could attending an online class? And if they have to miss out, how can they still consume the content of the class? Join Ryan Gray, assistant director of Information Technology Services at Yavapai College, and Jimmie Singleton, education AV Field Solutions Architect at CDW Education, for a riveting discussion describing how to create a frictionless student experience that drives students back into the classroom but still accounts for an accessible and robust online learning experience.
