Before establishing principles and practices for teaching and learning of students with SEN (Special Educational Needs), we need a good overview of results of empirical studies conducted in the field. Therefore, two systematic reviews on the use of digital tools in inclusive and non-inclusive school settings were conducted, taking into consideration studies published in German (one systematic review including studies having undergone a peer-review process and the second one including studies without peer review). The results will be presented during the conference along with the findings of student research on the same topic. The results of German student research projects (duration: one year) were critically discussed in a global classroom in cooperation with Indiana University East and Hamburg University (Germany) in the winter/spring term 2022-2023. The aggregated results can be a sound basis for improving accessibility for students with SEN and for adjusting teaching materials and concepts to the needs of the students with SEN in order to create successful learning environments in the future.
