Tuesday, October 10, 2023 | 8:00AM–8:20AM CT | Swap Shop, Central Concourse, Level 3
Session Type: Breakout Session
Delivery Format: Demonstration
FazBoard is a project that leverages the potential of human and AI interaction in educational contexts, allowing educational stakeholders and AI tools to complement each other’s strengths to achieve educational goals and improve outcomes. FazBoard comprises two crucial components: simulated and interactive teaching/learning spaces on an infinite digital canvas and an embedded AI Assistant in the form of a digital human. The digital canvas creates a teaching and learning environment, facilitating interaction and collaboration between the teacher and individual students and among students synchronously or asynchronously. The AI Assistant, available 24/7, provides instant responses to student inquiries and automates the collection of student inquiries and learning analytics. This information can be used to improve the curriculum, including substance, difficulty levels, delivery methods, and styles. The AI Assistant also automates connectedness functions for the teacher, such as notifying students of missing assignments, sending students timely instructional assistance or reminders, and scheduling conferences. The project also aims to improve student engagement, connectedness, and to align teaching and learning activities with the diversity in classes to ensure equitable access and learning outcomes through adaptive and active learning.
