Goodbye LMS, Hello Collaboration

Wednesday, October 11, 2023 | 3:00PM–3:45PM CT | Poster #110, Halls F1, F2, Level 3
Session Type: Poster Session
Delivery Format: Poster Session
Popular Learning Management Systems are good at managing access to online content but don’t excel at supporting collaboration and community-building, the cornerstones of student engagement. In this session, hear from faculty (and the staff who support them) who are leaving their campus LMS in favor of collaborative platforms like Microsoft Teams exclusively. We will discuss this approach's current strengths and weaknesses in terms of instructional design, class management, and support. Share your experiences and leave with a practical checklist for supporting this transition from a traditional LMS to a more collaborative platform.
