IT Service Foundations — The Journey Continues
At the 2022 EDUCAUSE Conference, we introduced the EDUCAUSE community to the IT Service Foundation program. We shared how enterprise architecture and strategic planning activities enable collateral benefits by aligning independent strategic initiatives: IT Financial Management, Hardware Asset Management, Service Standards, Service Catalog, and Service Management Roles. This popular poster session focused on describing the “what” of the IT Service Foundation program. In response to the significant number of inquiries, both during and after the conference, about how we are successful, the 2023 poster session will continue these conversations by describing “how” the IT Service Foundation program continues to successfully transcend across Penn State IT. The success of ITSF is attributed to intentionally cultivating an environment of collaboration, transparency, vulnerability, and trust, embracing the principles of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB); strong leadership support, with active feedback channels and continual communication to ensure ongoing support; and incorporating continuous improvement/LEAN methodologies into business practices to create sustainability and enable agility.
