Student-centered technology-related competitions are an effective cocurricular mechanism for engaging liberal arts students and increasing their digital fluency. This session will overview our definition and types of competitions, detail our workflow for creating and running effective competitions, provide background and metric data, and walk the audience through one tangible example related to data analytics and visualization. Everything presented could be replicated at another university.
