Leveraging Technological Automation to Boost Productivity Within a Rapidly Growing Online Program

Wednesday, October 11, 2023 | 3:00PM–3:45PM CT | Poster #204, Halls F1, F2, Level 3
Session Type: Poster Session
Delivery Format: Poster Session
Administering an at-scale online master's program requires a vast amount of instructional technology to work harmoniously. Inevitably, this can place a lot of stress on instructional technologists whose job it is to maintain these tools and platforms. At Penn Engineering Online we have been working hard to identify lapses in communication between such tools and to automate any tedious workflows that would otherwise fall to our staff. In this session, we will highlight a few of the automation projects that we have completed over the past few semesters and discuss their impact on our program. All of these projects have increased productivity and created space for further innovation as our program continues to grow. Examples include harnessing the Canvas API to increase data flow from learning tool integrations and creating workflows in Microsoft Power Automate. We encourage you to join and share ways in which your school is automating time-intensive tasks.
