If you are looking to bring VR to your campus but don’t know how to secure funding or deploy and manage headsets, then this presentation is for you! Hear directly from representatives from Meta (aka Facebook), New Mexico State University, and VictoryXR about how they built a Metaversity that is transforming educational outcomes for students. They will share specific details on how VR can be best adopted and implemented. Discussion will include the following: (1) Introductions: What a Metaversity is and how campuses have adopted this approach to teaching and learning; (2) VR perceptions: Effectiveness and efficiency of VR compared to traditional in-person teaching; (3) Deployment and setup: Organized documentation for setup, maintenance, and implementation of both the hardware and software; (4) Administrator Rights: Determine who and how VR is accessed responsibly; (5) Environmental Flexibility: Foster optimized learning experiences; (6) Inclusivity: Integrating features that consider trainees with physical/emotional/behavioral/social needs; (7) Integration: Bring VR into current Learning Management Systems and individualize content curation; and (8) Measurement: Learn which outcomes to measure when evaluating impact.
