As the world made a return to in-person classes, UW-Madison’s School of Education had to grapple with supporting A/V gear that had grown organically in over 100 instructional, meeting, and lab spaces across 10 different departments in eight buildings. To ensure instructors had the tools, technology, and support they needed to deliver quality instruction, MERIT undertook a multiyear, school-funded project to bring all A/V-enabled spaces up to a standard hardware baseline, allowing users to have consistent and intuitive technology available to them throughout all of our spaces, with the added benefits of IT and administrative staff receiving fewer support requests and a reduction in instruction time lost to tech issues.
