Reflecting on 5 Years of Building a Student-Focused Technology Center at a Small Liberal Arts University

Wednesday, October 11, 2023 | 4:00PM–4:45PM CT | W183c, Level 1
Session Type: Breakout Session
Delivery Format: Presentation/Panel Session
It’s been five years since the Tenzer Technology Center at DePauw University was realized. During those five years, we’ve learned a lot about creating and running a center focused on increasing digital fluency of the entire student body at a small liberal arts college. In this presentation, we will overview the initiative and its facilities and then, most importantly, reflect on its successes and challenges. Topics will include, but are not limited to, curricular and cocurricular engagement activities, leveraging student interns, funding and cost considerations, and data metrics. Engage in an honest, transparent, and informative story with many real-world examples and anecdotes. This session is intended to inspire audience members to dream about building something similar or improve an existing initiative on their campuses.
