Roomies and Zoomies: How We Bridged the Gap for an Inclusive Classroom

We have all felt the divide between in-person and remote students when teaching in a Hybrid, HyFlex, or <insert your favorite term here> format. The disconnect between the two makes it feel like two separate groups instead of one cohesive class. When our Master of School Administration (MSA) program moved to a permanent HyFlex format, we identified two key issues: faculty-student connection while lecturing, and facilitating group work while maintaining an equitable class experience. Participants in this session will hear how we bridged the gap for an inclusive classroom via faculty partnership and classroom design, how our MSA program is leveraging our new rooms, and what we’ve learned along the way.
